Finished the Seahorse
I have finished the Seahorse. I started at 6 this morning and very nearly 12 hours later he is done! Hooray! I am going to put my brain in some ice wtaer and then I am going to treat myself to some home-made buckwheat noodles and something mindless on the television

Seahorse
I have finished the stitching on the body of the seahorse and I added the fronds., he is coming on well, but I need to get him finished in the next few days, it shouldn't be a problem, but it is better to be a bit ahead than chasing my tail.
Kanga is a little bit better today, slightly more steady on her feet and purring which is a good sign.
My week planner is still going well, but I am shifting lots of little jobs forward a few days as getting the Seahorse done is top priority, hopefully when he is done, I will be able to take it easy and finish all the small jobs that are building up. If I didn't have my planner I think I would be in trouble as I tend to panic when there is lots to do which is pointless and not helpful at all!
Tonight I am hoping to Ebay more goodies, I have about 53 items up at the moment and underneath my desk is full of things that are selling soon (unfortunately behind me is a growing pile of things to put up.....that is why the rush!)

Trip to the Vet
We spent the morning in the vet with Kanga, she is still very wobbly on her legs and her head keeps twitching, the vet thinks she has been poisoned either from a lilly, antifreeze or dog flea treatment. We are hoping she will be OK, the vet said just to wait and see what happens as he does not know the cause and she does seem a bit better. She is sleeping a lot, hopefully she will be better soon.
I had more orders for Kingfisher kits today and I have done a tiny bit on my seahorse. I might do some this evening to catch up a bit. I did Ebay some goodies and proof Corp last night, but I did not get round to the cookbook or the kumihimo, maybe tonight.....
A Virtuous Day
I am having a horribly virtuous day! After a weekend with a 2 1/2 year old, I have been catching up today and putting into practice some of the things I have been reading about minimalism, not just in terms of 'stuff' but also in terms of a way of life. My desk is now free of everything that I don't need right away, my computers desktop is free from all but a short-cut to my accounts for this year (which I now do straight away rather than leaving it until an avalanche of paperwork stops me sewing!) I have cleaned off my noticeboard and even....wait for it... filled in my tax return which doesn't have to be done until the end of October!
Tomorrow I intend to do more on my 'to do' list (I now have a week planner and I set aside a time in the day to do each job - I used to just say 'I must do....' and not get round to it) and I also hope to get on with my seahorse.
Tonight I am planning to proof the final chapter of Gate 22 (James' book), Ebay some things, make a kumihimo bracelet to remind me to be mindful in all I do and hopefully make a start on my vegan cookbook....we shall see!
Kanga the cat looked very poorly just now, she was very wobbly on her feet and I think she must have fallen asleep in the heat and cooked herself, after a big drink she seems better, I am sure she will be OK, but I will get my Mum on standby for a trip to the vet

More Kits
I started at 5.30 this morning and I am still making kits nearly 12 hours later....I think my brain is now mush!
After a spot of supper, I think I will Ebay some more of our accumulated goodies. I can't believe how much stuff we have acquired. The plan is eventually to be able to move house in a small van...... I have sold loads of things so far (I have a rating of 570 - that is only the people who have bothered to leave feedback) and it must be making a difference, but I am not sure how much! I looked at some old photos recently and there was a lot of stuff that is no longer in the house! We have probably donated going on for 50 bags of stuff to the PDSA too! Where has it all come from!? I think ideally, my room will look like this.....one day!

Kits
I have been snowed under making Kingfisher hits! It is great news, but does mean that the Seahorse is going nowhere fast! Things are starting to return to normal now and hopefully the Seahorse will be back on the Work in Progress page (i.e. progressing!)

Seahorse Photo
I have taken the picture finally, I have done a little more since the last post

Seahorse Head
I have finished the head on my seahorse. It is coming on well. I have had another productive day today, using my week planner, I had my accounts all finished and up to date by 7 o'clock this morning! I think I might have a lazy evening.
I tried to take a photo of the seahorse, but the camera is out of batteries, so I will update the Work in Progress page tomorrow.
Seahorse
I have been sewing my Seahorse today for Stitch magazine. I need to get it finished before the end of June, so I wanted to get it out of the way.
James has been reading a book called '7 Habits of Highly Effective People' which he was recommended and is finding it very inspiring. When he is finished I am looking forward to reading it as the parts he has told me about seem good. Today I tried his technique of planning your work a week in advance, it is proving very successful so far and I have achieved far more than normal today. It is great!
